We work in one of the most challenging fields in the world, sin abounds, our property and our security is at risk, spiritual forces war against us, and we need your prayers.
Pray for our Community
Detroit remains a place of apathy and spiritual darkness, but in the mix some of the people belong to God. Pray that God will grant us success in sharing the Gospel. Pray that those who hear it will be strong enough to stand firm against the tide of challenges confronting them.
Pray for our Staff
- Dr Randy and Barb Brown have served here for 22 years and their children Stephanie, Emily, and Chris all work in the ministry. Steve Bare, Charlie Grace, and Chris Smith who are Elders and serve in several ministries. Meghan Smith works tirelessly with our youth. Jeff Hunt, Cedrick Jones, and Norm Smith who minister at our Basketball program.
- pray for their continued fervor in the work, That they would be encouraged and continue to be compassionate to the hurting congregation. Most importantly that God would give them grace by continuing to bring disciples around them. That God would continue to work through them to reach out to the young people and adults. That our hearts would continue to be generous toward the needs we encounter daily. Pray for our spiritual vitality and wisdom as we help to lead the Church.
Send Food for our Food Program
Organize a small group or a Sunday School class to make up bags of groceries and bring them down to Military Ave. Church. You could bring your food and come on the 4th Saturday and give it out. Below is a list of what goes in a bag of groceries:
4 canned vegetables, 1 Beef Stew, 1 Pasta Sauce, 3 Canned Soup, 4 Mac & Cheese, 1 Pasta, 1 Rice.
Support us Financially
As stated above we have a very large ministry which operates on relatively small budget. Our congregation can only supply 25% of our annual needs. We minister to four hundred children in a year, we help over 600 different families with food, we reach out to 100 young men through our basketball ministry and work with 400 hundred volunteers annually. All on a budget of $170,000.00 . We need those who believe in our work to continue to help us do that work. If you can do so out of grace and not out of guilt please join our efforts by supporting us.
